Malmberg and Frederiksen take the lead on second AVS Cup night

Nicolas Wernimont and Arne De Groote have lost their lead in the Future Six days of Ghent. Danish duo Matias Malmberg and Oliver Frederiksen took over the yellow leaders? jerseys.

The Danes amassed 39 points, nine more than Brits Will Tidball and Rhys Britton. Wernimont and De Groote dropped to third with 21 points. Malberg and Frederiksen managed to take control of the first points race ahead of Irish duo Ryan Fintan and JB Murphy. Tidball and Britton placed third.
 
The second points race went to Germany’s Dik Calvin and Nils Weispfenning. Italians Jacopo Cavicchioli and Filippo Ferronato claimed second, ahead of the Belgian-Danish tandem Bryan Boussaert/Martin Mollerup. 

Malmberg and Frederiksen then won the third event of the night, the one-lap time-trial, beating Tidball/Rhys and Wernimont/De Groote and ending the day on top. On Thursday the first madison is part of the programme.
